Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • Oil in a spray bottle

Instructions

  1. Prepare the onion by cutting off the top and peeling the skin. Create downward cuts to form petals.
  2. Let the onion sit cut-side up for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, cayenne, and seasonings. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, and water.
  4. Coat the onion with the flour mixture, dip in egg wash, then coat again in flour.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator while preheating the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Spray the onion with oil and air fry for about 25 minutes, spraying with oil every few minutes.
  7. Carefully remove from the fryer and season before serving.
