Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. Beat together cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth for the filling. Set aside.
  3. Combine flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the crumb topping; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract. Mix in sour cream until well combined.
  5. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this mixture to wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan. Pour the cream cheese mixture on top followed by sprinkling fresh blueberries evenly over it. Add remaining batter on top then finish with crumb topping.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for about 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean. Allow it to cool completely before slicing into squares.
