Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh chow mein noodles
- 2 cups thinly sliced cabbage
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp regular soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetarian stir fry sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup chicken stock (or cold water)
- 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauces, vegetarian stir fry sauce, sesame oil, garlic, chicken stock, and cornstarch. Set aside.
- Bring a large pan of water to boil over medium-high heat. Blanch the chow mein noodles for 20-30 seconds until loosened.
- Drain the noodles in a colander; do not rinse.
- Heat vegetable oil in the large pan over medium heat. Sauté onions, cabbage, and celery for about 1 minute until softened.
- Push veggies to one side of the pan; add remaining oil and then the noodles along with the prepared sauce.
- Toss everything together until well coated and heated through before serving.
