Instructions

  2. Skewer each apple with bamboo skewers for easy dipping.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, liquid glucose, and black food coloring. Heat over medium, stirring gently until dissolved.
  4. Once dissolved, stop stirring and wash down sugar crystals from the sides with a wet brush.
  5. Cook until reaching hard crack stage (150ºC/310ºF).
  6. Dip each apple into the caramel mixture, swirling for an even coat.
  7. Place dipped apples on the prepared baking sheet and allow to cool completely before serving.
